Dr. Ugochi Azuike is a proud Houston native with deep Nigerian roots and a lifelong commitment to healing through evidence-based, holistic, and patient-centered care. She is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and a leading expert in regenerative and interventional orthopedics. As the founder of Sugarland Interventional Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine, she combines cutting-edge, image-guided procedures with whole-body osteopathic principles to treat musculoskeletal and spine conditions at their root cause—without reliance on surgery or long-term medications.

Dr. Azuike graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) in Fort Worth. There, she underwent hundreds of hours of hands-on training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)—a core philosophy that continues to guide her approach to treating the body as an interconnected system capable of self-regulation and self-healing.

She completed her residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the esteemed Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she honed her skills in musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and spine rehabilitation. Her passion for innovation and patient-centered outcomes led her to pursue an elite fellowship in Interventional Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine at the world-renowned Centeno-Schultz Clinic in Colorado. As the first female physician to graduate from the program, she received advanced, image-guided training in the use of orthobiologics—such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate (BMC/stem cells), and prolotherapy—for precise, non-surgical treatment of orthopedic and spine injuries.

Dr. Azuike is also a credentialed U.S. Department of Labor (OWCP) physician, where she serves as a trusted resource for federal workers navigating complex work-related injuries. With extensive experience in the federal claims process, she is known for her ability to help patients successfully initiate and manage their claims while receiving comprehensive, medically necessary care. She is particularly skilled in delivering ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided injections for spine and joint injuries, and is deeply committed to helping injured workers recover function, reduce pain, and return to meaningful activity through personalized, high-quality treatment plans.

Her clinical philosophy is rooted in treating the whole person—not just the symptoms. This includes integrating functional rehabilitation, osteopathic techniques, regenerative therapies, and individualized care plans to optimize recovery, restore mobility, and improve quality of life.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Azuike is actively involved in ongoing research in interventional orthopedics, contributing to the advancement and scientific validation of regenerative therapies in musculoskeletal medicine.

Outside the clinic, she is a passionate artist and accomplished recording musician. Her music has been featured on radio, NETFLIX, and a platinum-selling album, embodying her belief that healing and creativity are deeply intertwined.
